I bought a bilingual book a while ago and decided to do a review on it! The book that I bought it :
Japanese in 10 Minutes A DayFirst of all, I suggest buying it from their site rather than in a store because it is much cheaper (I paid 32$ at chapters for the book, while online it is 20$)
I've never had a bilingual book, however this one was still the best. The first paragraph alone introduces you into Japanese words and repeats them often until you finally know what it is. It teaches you words you need to know, and the exercises help you make sentences. Not only does it have exercises, but it has stickers, flashcards and a CD.
You don't have to do 10 minutes a day, you can choose however long you wish to do it for. However, all you really need is 10 minutes a day because there is so much information and the book really helps you remember the word. The stickers are my favorite because it is less work than making your own! (Which can be tiresome!) This is the best way to build your vocabulary!
Within the first 10 minutes, I had built a mini vocabulary and was able to make simple phrases.
The only downside is that it doesn`t teach you the alphabet. The stickers have transliterated Japanese with it`s pronunciation, however I would have preferred to have the word either in Hiragana or Katakana along with its pronunciation so the learner can get familiar with the alphabet.
I found this product extremely helpful! With so many other products, I get bored and give up, however I can stop whenever I want and come back to it later.
Nonetheless, this is a great product and I will definitely try out their Spanish and German products :)
You can get the books and CD`s here:
